  • Intent:
    • We Need Proper Assessments
      • This was created to replace an outdated accession system that primarily looked at meritus and activity more than the genuine needs of Sol or their skillset.
      • Meritus is not being replaced, but this will work in conjunction with Meritus, Capitus, time in rank, time in the career, and many other things.
      • This will prevent those only seeking rank from getting promoted, and only promote and reward those with genuine intentions to grow Sol and actual skill.
      • This empowers leaders to promote genuine talent and skill within their organization rather than promote just to promote.
      • This incentivizes critical thinking and speaking skills amongst leaders to create adequate justifications for hiring, rejecting, interviewing, or firing talent.
      • This positions people into roles that best fit them and be gauged based off of their position performance.
    • We Need Outlined Expectations & Purposes
      • Careers are now attached to specific ministries, which are then attached to specific governances that are detailed in Systems Hierarchy.
      • This creates career descriptions, career expectations, and overall organizational objectives to provide a sense of direction for everyone in the role or an idea of what the role entails.
    • We Need Position Justifications
      • We now only create positions based on the genuine need of Sol rather than the wants of the individual. When we have too many people in the same position, we end up promoting too many people with no function. It creates a sense of complacency and added pressure on leaders to manage a disorganized purposeless team.
      • If there are no available positions, no promotions can be made. This should incentivize expansion to justify the need to create more positions to support the growth.
    • We Need to Reduce Over Encumbrance
      • This will prevent people from accepting too many roles and burning out or providing lower quality work because of the minimal time to work. Most of your time spent in Sol should be spent enjoying the community, and not working for the community.
        • At the moment, non-Empyreans are not permitted to hold more than one position with the exception of their house position! (for now)
      • This will also prevent security concerns when too many people have too many accesses and authorities. Departmentalization creates checks and balances that will better protect Sol and promote communication and mutual understanding.
      • This will also prevent task saturation. Specific tasks that are not relevant to your ministry/position will not be given to you. This will keep tasks out of your skillset from being assigned to you. You do only what you voluntarily applied for and the base expectations of your series.

  • FAQs
    • Who does this apply to?
      • D Series+ are expected to hold a position. L Series and below are not expected to, but sometimes positions can be made available to them such as artists, editors, or proofreaders.
    • When are we expected to find a career?
      • D Series+ have until the end of March 2023 to find a position that fits them. There are plenty, but don't wait too long.
    • What happens if I don't find a career?
      • You will be demoted down to L Series where holding positions is not required.
    • What happens if I'm removed from a position?
      • You will be given time to find a new position unless you are demoted with rank or series reduction, then you can only apply for positions that you meet the requirements for.
    • What happens if I don't want to hold any positions?
      • You will be demoted down to L Series where it's not required.
    • Where do I find all vacant career listings?
      • Career Listings is where you can find all open positions. This is automatically updated.
    • Where do I find all career descriptions?
      • Find the position in Systems Hierarchy. In the end, click on the position, and it'll take you to the ministry associated with it. There, you will find all your information. If you still have questions, check who runs that ministry and ask them or open a ticket.
    • How do I apply?
      • Look at your highest sphere under the pinned messages, you will find the application form link.
    • Can I apply for positions higher than my series?
      • Yes, if you are marked as "promotable" to the next series by the Automata.
    • Can I apply for positions lower than my series?
      • Yes, for now. You may eventually be reduced to that series so that your rank fits your level of authority and contribution. You will be given a fair notice far in advance if a rank reduction is planned. This will give you time to find a position that fits or accept the reduction.
    • My application was rejected, now what?
      • Check the email you used to apply with. The minister should have emailed you with the reasoning.
    • My application is under review, now what?
      • Check the email you used to apply with. The minister should have emailed you requesting more information or may reach out to you for a quick call interview.
    • My application is approved, now what?
      • The minister may email you or reach out to you with the next steps. They'll give you the proper roles and permissions within 24 hours.
    • Where do I find who has what position?
      • You can find who is in what by checking the automata. Next to their name, it'll show you their position. The color indicates the governance. Red for societal, blue for cultural, and yellow for capital.
    • Who handles promotions now?
      • Your ministry leader now handles your promotion. It's based on series requirements and career performance. If you meet series requirements and are doing an excellent job in your position, you may get promoted.
      • If you meet series requirements but are not doing a very good job in your position, you will not get promoted.
      • If you meet requirements and doing a good job in your position but there are no positions available with a higher series in your ministry, you will not be promoted. You may transfer to another ministry that has an opening for the series you're looking to get promoted into.
        • Example: D3 trying to promote into A1 will need to apply for a position that requires an A Series. If they can't find any in their ministry, they'll have to transfer to another ministry that has them and take up that position. If there are no positions for your series, you will not be promoted. Positions are available based on need.
    • How many positions can I hold?
      • If you are not an Empyrean, you can only hold one. This excludes Domus positions.
        • Example: Patriarchs can also apply to be Event Hosts.
        • Note: This will eventually be phased out and eventually all members will be able to only hold one role.
      • Take only positions you truly want to be in. Don't take them just to get rank.
    • Can I change careers?
      • Yes, you can by asking your ministry leader to transfer to another ministry with open positions. They may deny it.
      • You can also wait for re-assignment day, which is the last accessions meeting each month, as per the calendar. There are no consequences for changing careers.
      • No one can stop you from changing careers. No one can punish you for changing careers.
      • Make sure you change careers to something that's available. If you abandon your career before you get accepted into a new one, you will have to find one or be reduced in rank or series.
      • If you abandon your career or the responsibilities of your career before re-assignment, you will receive a violation for position dereliction. This may reduce you in rank or series.
      • Communicate the desire to change careers with your ministry leader. Suddenly reassigning yourself may burn bridges with key leaders and make you look unreliable and unprofessional.
    • I currently hold a position before the change, do I need to re-apply?
      • Yes, you need to re-apply for the position if it's still available.
      • Check career listings to see if it's available or not. If it's not, you need to find a new position. Most positions have been sunset or reduced in capacity.
    • When do I start my position?
      • Most positions go live on March 1st, 2023.
      • However, some positions are vital and are already live, so you may immediately start. Please check with your ministry leader for guidance.
    • What if I don't have a ministry leader?
      • In the rare chance that there's no ministry leader, the Omniarch will hold the ministry leader position and oversee the accession process to acquire a leader for it. So, if there's no ministry leader, assume it's the Omniarch O3. Reach out to them for guidance or they may reach out to you.

More Information
  • Career Listings
    • This is a list that automatically updates as positions are taken, added, or removed.
    • This is something everyone should check frequently for new postings, some of which are paid positions.
    • This can be used to reference when looking at the application form so you can locate it.
  • Career Applications
    • An application form has been created and pinned in all spheres in which you can find all available positions and apply for the one you'd like to have. It's not a guarantee as others may be actively applying as well.
    • Listings can go down quick, so apply quick and put effort into it.
    • Application rejects or information requests will be emailed to you. Please check this frequently.
  • Career Accessions
    • Accessions are now more tailored to what you do for your ministries and not just for your series. Broad series expectations have been reduced to minimalize the stress of meeting series expectations, such as hosting.
